Warren Buffett Writing Hero

Take away all his billions and Warren Buffett
would still be rich. Buffett is rich with business writing acumen. He
writes clearly without spin. In the Berkshire Hathaway annual report
he's written:
"I've made this kind of deal a few times myself--and, on balance, my actions have cost you money."
"...I wasted several years while we attempted to sell the operation...Fault me for dithering."
When the SEC put together a plain English guide for disclosure documents, they had Buffett write the introduction. He
says he writes his annual reports as if writing to his sisters. Though
highly intelligent, Buffett's sisters are not experts in accounting or
finance. But they understand plain English. "My goal," he writes, "is
simply to give them the information I would wish them to supply me if
our positions were reversed. To succeed I don't need to be Shakespeare. I
must, though, have a sincere desire to inform."
Amen.
